The Finale

The Finale

Right from the first week of the boot camp, we’ve always waited for the last week when we’ll have to stop thinking of ways to construct our English and not disgrace ourselves and our generation.

Honestly we are so tempted to reveal the identity of the person handling the hashnode, but we already believe most of you have it figured out. So we’ll skip all that cheesy romance thing.

This is going to be our last boot camp storytelling, so we’re absolutely going to make the most of it. This is probably going to be lengthier than usual. We promise to make this less emotional (no one is dying).

PROJECT

IMG-4043.PNG This week’s project wasn’t intense (it was probably just a me thing) - Creating a Google and Facebook ad campaign. Israeli did his research and was able to bless us with the knowledge of a Facebook campaign structure. The structure goes from a Campaign objective to Ad set to Ads(or ad type be it video or image). This Facebook structure is slightly different from that of Google, in the sense that, the Google structure has Keywords followings behind Ads. Now, I’m speaking in marketing. We decided to work in relation with the Food Industry (because food is happiness and true love). So Kamdi asked everyone to design their respective Facebook and Google campaign structures, which as usual, few people did like Israel, Ebube and a few others. Whenever we weren't designing the campaign structure, we were doing the technical work on Google Ad Campaign Manager for Google and Facebook Ad Campaign Manager for Facebook.

To close off, we’ll be reintroducing the team members. A short, heartfelt but not mushy introduction.

Kamdi

60fb50b4-5acc-4329-a02b-88ccc669adb1.jpeg The team’s leader. He has been the best part and backbone of this team because everybody on this team likes doing whatever their coconut heads tells them to do, nobody dey hear word. But Kamdi was very tolerant and patient with everyone. He had moments where he lost his cool, but whoever is a saint and doesn’t get upset should kindly rise and cast the first stone. His knowledge box is vast and really impressive. If you don’t have a strong mind, you might feel intimidated. And this knowledge was very beneficial to the team and its members. Through every phase of the boot camp, he was there, encouraging, supporting, making compromises, and gloating like an Igbo father on behalf of the team. His forte is bringing out the best in everyone and he did it with so much poise.

Adejumoke

5eb9b6b3-0cd3-44e2-80c8-c2d692ad5c4f.jpeg Asides being the Assistant team’s leader, I’ll introduce her as the “love of Ebube’s life.” Those two never fail to rub their love in everyone’s faces especially Kamdi’s, and the young man is never having it. You know that big, rich aunty in every family that will always support you and wants peace and cares for everyone like her own; that’s Adejumoke for you. We absolutely doubt anyone else would have been a better assistant leader than she was. She’s very considerate, peaceful, charming, motherly, and never lets negative energy bring her down no matter what. Adejumoke is that person you will always want to have in your life (corner) because you know she will always be there for you, as long as she cares about you and you have sense.

Israel

bfe45570-cf5a-434e-bef1-270001893c1f.jpeg Our able and ever present CEO sir. This guy is so cool in his own way. Asides the team leaders, We doubt he ever missed any meeting. A very punctual and consistent person with his odd fatherly traits. Like play, almost all the members in this group behave like old people (with coconut heads). His presence in this team was much needed and very efficient. Oh, and the bromance between himself and Kamdi, really beautiful. There were moments when every other person became invisible during meetings and it was just the two of them talking to each other (kuku have the meeting alone). And when he is not having the bromance moments with Kamdi, he is speaking Yoruba with Jumoke and that leaves Ebube crying blood because she doesn’t know if she’s being sold. Before we forget, Israel is a good up and coming graphics designer, who unfortunately doubts his abilities and how good he can be if he takes it seriously. We’re rooting for you, Israel.

Damilola

b542e09d-3b96-44db-8cd2-cc535a4fbb3e.jpeg Our very quiet member of the group. DAMILOLA’s MICROPHONE WILL BE MUTED FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END OF THE MEETING, except you talk to her (Yes, I’m shouting). It will now be like all of us are noise makers. Most times, we didn’t even know when she joined the meeting because our aunty will not even greet, she will just mute her microphone. But, this kind of made us observe to know when she joins the meeting (Well, maybe just me). As quiet as Damilola is, she never disappoints. She is phenomenal; and whenever her mic is not mute, there is a beautiful voice spitting wisdom. (I don’t get why it’s the ones that have lovely speaking voices that are quiet, then all the broken radios will be talking upandan, no offense intended).

Bello

PHOTO-2022-06-10-23-30-35.jpg This is Damilola’s twin brother when it comes to being quiet. Due to his quietness, you’ll never know when this guy is at the meeting, but due to his consistency, you can also never miss his presence. So on days when he’s absent, you’ll know. One thing we are fully aware of is Bello’s love for football. For our blog project where Kamdi asked us to come up with 5 blog topics each, only Bello came up with football topics and that was so amazing. His devotion to the football world is so beautiful. Even with all of his reservations, Bello is a charmer and a very sweet and caring person, and an amazing friend.

Hallelujah

a5d66fd1-5434-4456-91a6-03dc9d9393de.jpg The best writer of all. This lady’s ability to write and keep you engaged and intrigued is just mind blowing. She is sunshine with this bubbly personality, this beautiful smile, and this cute laugh that she never fails to grace us with. Her blog posts had the most reads, I’m sure you get the writing part now.

Dominic

PHOTO-2022-06-11-12-01-47.jpg A.K.A Minnic. Our Korean-African gentleman. He doesn’t have a Korean citizenship; he’s just a fan of the Korean world, speaks their language and a few other languages. He does his best to lighten up the atmosphere especially when we have our bonding moments. Ohh, and he’s also an up and coming musician with nice vocals.

Chidinma

PHOTO-2022-06-10-22-49-37.jpg Dinma the photographer, writer, blogger and any other creative title that ends with “er”. Due to health situations, we unfortunately didn’t get to have a lot of moments with Chidinma, but every moment shared was really nice. Her commitment to the team is admirable. During the blogging project, she got really sick but that didn’t stop her from submitting her own article. She actually had to ask her roommate to send it in. Now, that’s true love and commitment in our books. Initially, it felt like she was so uptight but in the end she’s actually really welcoming and nice.

Seyi

IMG-4045.jpg Our working class lady, pharmacist in the making and skin care enthusiast. She’s always busy and barely available but she somehow manages to show up and bring good energy while meeting up with every deadline. She’s a very unique breed and we always cherish her.

Ebube

IMG_3732.jpeg A ray of sunshine. The love of our life. She is our editor-in-chief and we love the way she uses her words. A creative mind (if not the best of us). She claims to be a hard guy, but deep down, she actually cares a lot. I will describe her as a selfless person but then that will be an understatement. She does her best to acknowledge everyone on the team during the meetings. Even though there are moments she will join the meeting and just mute herself. According to Kamdi, she’s always in the factory, and I agree because na so so type she will be typing in the chat box. Just know that if she’s not doing her love play with Jumoke, she’s attacking Kamdi and his Yoruba-Igbo.

Hashnode readers

reader.jpg The best part of the team. Yes, you’re an important member of this team. You practically know everything that happened during the boot camp. Without you people, there would have been no zeal to write for these past 6 weeks. You’re the best of the best.

To every member of the team, you are highly appreciated and adored and are the best team members anyone can hope for. Thank you for making Digital Marketing Portfolio Team 1 a success. And please work on your portfolio. We’re not doing the “All good things must come to an end” speech because who says this has to end. We know we initially complained about this relationship when it started, but turns out it was an amazing one, so we all decided to continue with our various endeavors and help each other out as a team that we are. We also agreed to continue with our blog - Vibesbythem. Different things come and go, but hopefully this newly acquired friendship and bond will last a lifetime.

Like we always say: We may not be perfect, but we’re definitely growing. Because personal growth never ends.

Without further ado, we’ve come to the end of the boot camp journey, and we look forward to what the future has in store for us.
