Our First Time Designing.

Our First Time Designing.

Hello everyone, welcome back to our blog.

welcome-back-good-to-have-you-back.gif We are usually an enthusiastic and proactive team, even though we have our extremely lazy days. But, this past week hasn't exactly been the best one for us. We had three sick team members and another one with a wrist injury. But hey, we are full-time warriors; We always find the silver lining in every cloud. Please do not read this with a somber tone in your head because we had quite a fun-filled week. Tag along as we fill you up on all the dirty deets for the week.

DAY 1

IMG_6735.jpg This week’s project was honestly somewhat confusing and we all had different interpretations. Like bruh, what exactly do you want us to do? Trying to deduce a meaning by compiling everyone's comprehension together into one, certainly wasn't easy for us. The day's meeting started with Kamdi being super-emotional. He kept lamenting about how inconsistent and absent some people have been from the onset for some if not all of the meetings. It was super intense. Jumoke did her best to keep everything “and everyone (Kamdi is everyone)” in check.
Trust me to keep my mouth shut before Kamdi gets any chance to cut my head off. We spent the entire meeting trying to understand the project work. So we concluded that we would ask our ogas at the top for more clarity.

DAY 2

sick-flu.gif We had three absentees from this meeting due to health deterioration - Kamdi, Seyi, and Chidinma. All these events just had us thinking about what coping mechanism to employ. I was also coming down with a cold and I had a problem with my wrist so doing this documentation was with excruciating pain. We were also still confused about what our project was supposed to be about.

It felt like the universe was against us, and we had no idea what we did. Due to Kamdi’s absence, Jumoke and Ebube were asked to conduct the meeting (what in the name of sorcery). I just wondered why on earth he would place such a playful and chaotic duo in charge. Don’t get me wrong, they are both very competent, they just don’t have sense and are always at each other’s necks.

However, I must commend Jumoke’s ability to have everything under control even with the low turn-up at the meeting. The lady just handled the situation with so much humor that we forgot all our problems. We all decided to continue writing and publishing our blog stories, as well as creating graphics designs to post on our various social media pages.

Jumoke and Ebube drafted the Content calendar for the week and assigned everyone to their respective stories. Bello was assigned to do the graphics design which Jumoke and Ebube would review. We were able to publish one blog story at the end of the day.

DAY 3

GIF animator-min.webp On this day, we had Chidinma back on track, fully recovered, and ready to work. We had no designs ready because Bello’s was good, but not good enough to drive traffic. While analyzing the project again, we all assumed that we probably didn’t need to write but just design.

With this new development, Jumoke decided that everyone would come up with a design for the blog - something very intriguing. So the writing was placed on hold. This idea was great but also a bit rocky because only a few of us had little experience designing. But we learn every day and we put that mentality into use.

DAY 4

We had a very brief meeting because we didn’t have much to discuss. We set selected colors to be used for the designs and Jumoke encouraged the team to try to do better.

DAY 5

Solution-Overview-Video.gif We finally had Kamdi back on track, partly recovered. Oh yes, he came back bearing an explanation about the project work (absolutely late but finally). Fortunately, we were a little on track, so we just continued the process.

organic-online-discussion.jpg This day’s meeting was Bonding time where we do our usual catching up on each other’s lives just to ease the built-up tension and stress. This is my favorite day of the meeting because it's filled with laughs. After a week of anger, you get to laugh and be free.

We talked about various languages we can speak. Apparently, we have people who can speak Igbo, Yoruba, Korean, Spanish, French, and English. So people who understood each other spoke to each other, while the rest of us just muted our microphones and listened like lost sheep.

DAY 6

There was no meeting on this day, but we all continued work with designing. Everyone sent in their design work and we agreed to upload it on the drive for easy compilation.

DAY 7

I think we can all agree that this wasn’t our best week. It just didn’t feel so right. There’s no need to hide the fact. But as always, We may not be perfect, but we are definitely growing.
