Blogging and Content Creation

WELCOME

youtube.jpg Hello guys, welcome back to my YouTube channel. I have always wanted to say this, unfortunately, this is not a Vlog. So, let's start afresh.

boot camp.jpg Welcome back to our boot-camp-journey blog. We made it to week 2, and we are super excited for another road trip despite knowing that this week's trip is going to be somehow because this road we are looking at should be deleted from the map.

PHOTO-2022-06-13-08-51-13 (1).jpg Before we proceed, I would love to announce on behalf of the team, with so much joy in our hearts, that our previous post (growing as a team of DIGITAL MARKETERS) was acknowledged by Drey, one of the top managers of this internship. It felt so good, and helped boost our morale. That boost lasted till we saw our second project work. These people will first give you butterflies, then mental trauma. Second and last announcement is that I now have a co-driver for moments when my hand starts hurting from driving, and to help me with the road directions because any wrong turn like this, we will just lost.

DAY 1

IMG-3330.PNG There is always a priceless reaction whenever our project work for the week gets released. This time, the general slack workspace went ballistic. Everyone was crying blood and omo. We can all bet that Drey was having his fair share of fun from these consistent reactions. In our private slack workspace, we continued the tears and omo spree and scheduled our usual meeting for 5pm. I must add that at the meeting, our assistant kept laughing. It was her way of relieving the tension caused by the project, and I was absolutely not having it (sister, what is funny!). It was another day to frown because nothing is funny (thank you very much Drey). Anyhoo, our leader, Kamdi, appreciated everyone for their efforts and time invested in our previous project, and encouraged everyone to work harder for this week’s project. Prior to the project work, we chose the Entertainment industry because “why not.” It’s broad and we are all involved in it one way or the other. We chose to use Blogger as our blogging platform; and Kamdi helped in setting up our account and it was named, “VIBESBYTHEM.” The meeting ended with Kamdi giving everyone an assignment, “Go and get 5 topics to write about, send them to me or Jumoke, and we will choose one out of them for you to work on.” This means that we were all asked to come up with 5 topics each, and after Kamdi and Jumoke must have deliberated and made their choice, one out of your five topics will be assigned to you. (I’m really praying we understand this explanation). And that, my dear, was how we said goodnight.

DAY 2

PHOTO-2022-06-19-14-48-49.jpg We began today’s meeting (virtual meeting) with Kamdi offering to do a giveaway if one particular ghost worker attends the meeting. And just like magic, this worker actually joined the meeting. It felt like the return of the prodigal son. Kamdi, you are still owing us giveaway. As usual, not a single soul had sent in their 5 topics. Well, except Damilola; I believe we can all learn from Dami (but we get coconut heads). Judging from this, I think we can all agree as a team that we have bad characters. Kamdi dismissed us by asking everyone to submit their topics before 6pm (coconut heads everywhere). Three hours later, after everyone had sent in their topics; Kamdi and Jumoke chose a topic for each person and made a compilation on Google Sheets, with their respective dates and time for publishing. Due to how vast the entertainment industry is, we had topics from different sectors of the industry. We all came to agreement that Ebube would be the one to edit every blog story that is to be published.

DAY 3

We published our first blog post which was written by Damilola, and it was about the show titled, "The Real Housewives of Lagos." My brethren, this was the beginning of all our problems. Everything from the texts to the images looked so disorganized. These uncles and aunties (texts and images) were out of proportion.

PHOTO-2022-06-15-14-42-28.jpg The article looked very messy. It looked so unpresentable that no one would want to stay long enough to read the interesting piece. Due to this reason, we were unable to share our blog post. Both Kamdi and Ebube did their best to make corrections; they had to do a whole lot of editing to make it look semi-presentable; and just when Ebube thought she had a hang of it, she realized she had nothing and that this problem is bigger than she is.

DAY 4

While we kept trying to work on our blogging page, we had two new blog posts published, because no battle is too big for us and we are warriors. The blog stories were written by Dominic and Halleluyah. Ebube was finally able to hack the system (not literally) and was able to get our posts in order. With this new development, Ebube was assigned to post every blog story while still doing her job as the Editor-in-chief; and everyone was allowed to start sharing the link to our posts. For today's meeting, our leaders had to do their usual begging routine on our WhatsApp platform so people could show up for the meeting. Kamdi taught the team about alt text, backlinking and using the right keywords. Yes, I agree with you, Kamdi is an amazing leader, alongside his cruise master of an assistant, Jumoke. To call it a day, Kamdi scheduled our next meeting as “Bonding time”.

DAY 5

bonding time.png Bonding time; today's meeting was very entertaining and relaxing. No one was to say a word about our project or about work. It was scheduled to be a good time, and it definitely was. We got to know each other a little better as we all talked about ourselves, how our days went, what we do for fun, among other things. We have some musicians in our midst. There is every chance of Ebube killing Jumoke before the end of this boot camp because I’m not understanding those two and their habit of dragging each other. As a token of appreciation for all of our work and consistency, our competent leader, Kamdi sent two pdf files that are to teach us strategies for building an audience that builds our business. With that, the meeting came to an end. We also published two blog posts by Kamdi and Jumoke.

DAY 6

There was no meeting on this day, but that didn’t stop us (warriors) from publishing two blog posts written by Oluwaseyi and Israel.

DAY 7

fathers day.jpg We want to begin by wishing all of our amazing fathers A Happy Father’s Day. We absolutely appreciate you all for your love, kindness, support, discipline (not really, you people use to overdo sometimes), prayers, and for doing the best you can to always provide for the family. We love you all, and pray to celebrate this auspicious day with you all next year. We are also to publish two blog stories before the end of today.

We may not have been able to get up to a 100 reads on some of our blog posts, but we definitely learnt a lot from this week's project; and we also survived. We can finally sleep with our eyes closed till the next project. As always, we have come to the end of our week’s journey and it is time to say goodbye. It’s not goodbye forever (yet), as we will see you again next week. Till then, please stay safe and reminisce on the love we have for you (because we are always giving you premium gist), and always remember that, “We may not be perfect, but we are definitely growing.”
